The Projects and Construction team at LK Shields Solicitors is structured to provide our clients with a full suite of contentious and non-contentious advice.

Our breadth of expertise stretches across all of the main standard form construction contracts utilised on Irish projects, including RIAI, PWC, NEC3/4, JCT, FIDIC and others.

As key members of any project team, our construction lawyers work for (and with) our clients as delivery managers in order to achieve their commercial objectives.  Rather than just traditional outside counsel, we seek to partner with our clients in a more collaborative manner than our competitors, whilst also remaining a trusted advisor throughout the project and transaction life cycle.

We represent public and private sector clients (including some of the biggest global brands) at every level of the project matrix, including forward purchasers, funders, employers, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and insurance companies.

We are also a firm of choice in contentious construction matters. From our offices in Dublin and Galway, our contentious team is relied upon as legal advisor by many of the CIF’s Top 50 contractors in Ireland. We regularly advise clients in arbitration, adjudication, conciliation and mediation.

Our specialist team advise on both major and minor infrastructure, including key asset classes such as social housing, renewable energy, healthcare, transport, PRS, manufacturing, data centres, and mixed-use developments.  We are particularly active advising on third party funded projects, having carved out a developer-borrower niche in recent years.  LK Shields also has significant experience in the offshore projects market, with expertise specifically in subsea and renewable projects.

We maintain strong links with organisations such as the Society of Construction Law, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and we are Corporate Partners with the Construction Industry Federation in Ireland.
