Ian is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at LK Shields.

He has wide-ranging experience in handling disputes on behalf of domestic and international clients relating to general corporate, construction and engineering and financial services matters. He has acted in numerous large-scale and high-profile cases before both the Irish and English courts, having practised in London for almost a decade before re-joining LK Shields.

Ian also advises clients in mediation, adjudication and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. He is a strong advocate of these, often more business-friendly, means of disposing of disputes.

He has extensive experience in advising insurers on multiparty disputes and complex policy coverage issues. Professional indemnity and product liability claims in the construction sector are a particular specialism.

Ian is member of the Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland, the Society of Construction Law and the British Insurance Law Association.
