Jill is Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She advises on all aspects of commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

She has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation dispute resolution, in particular, commercial, contract, shareholder and property disputes.

While an experienced litigator, Jill takes a constructive commercial approach where possible. Jill has also extensive experience representing parties before tribunals of enquiry established by the Irish Parliament.

Jill is also a leading member of the corporate restructuring and insolvency unit of the firm and has acted in some of the most high-profile insolvencies in recent years. Jill has vast experience of advising in restructuring, examinerships, receiverships and liquidations on behalf of all stakeholders including companies, directors, officeholders, insolvency practitioners, financial institutions, shareholders and other creditors.

Experience

  • Acting for an American multinational entity in defence of proceedings before the High Court concerning unfair pricing and anti-competitive behaviour.
  • Acting for a large international fuel company in a number of high court contractual disputes with licence holders which run service stations on behalf of our client.
  • Acting for an international company in defence of proceedings concerning alleged environmental contamination of retail and residential lands.
  • Acting for a commercial landlord of a substantial number of retail properties in bringing High Court proceedings against a well-known restaurant chain which was a tenant of those properties
  • Acting for a regulated investment fund in defence of high court proceedings brought by a number of preference shareholders of that fund.
  • Acting for an international packaging manufacturer in significant debt recovery proceedings against a customer before the High Court.
  • Acting for an international car manufacturer in defence of product liability and damages claims before the High Court.
  • Advising and acting for receivers appointed pursuant to fixed and floating charges in respect of claims being made by the borrowers that the receivers were not validly appointed and in particular taking injunctive proceedings against the borrowers.
  • Acting for a number of companies in bringing successful applications to place the companies in examinership.
  • Acting for a significant number of both court appointed liquidators and liquidators appointed in creditors voluntarily liquidations in successful applications seeking to restrict and/or disqualify directors of the companies.
