LK Shields Announces New Head of Corporate and Commercial

LK Shields has announced a leadership change with the promotion of Richard Curran to Head of the firm’s substantial Corporate & Commercial department.

Richard Curran has been appointed as Head of the Corporate and Commercial Department at LK Shields.

Richard joined the firm as a Partner in 2005. Richard is an experienced international M&A lawyer having qualified with another large Dublin corporate firm and worked for several years with Hammonds (now part of international firm Squire Patton Boggs) in London and Berlin.

Recent transactions Richard has worked on include the sale of the OASIS Group to Montagu Private Equity, the acquisition of SteriPack Limited by Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE:BMS) and the sale of StudentUniverse Inc. to Flight Centre Travel Group PLC. Richard’s experience covers all sectors and he also advises clients on private equity investments and shareholder arrangements.

Richard also has experience of public private partnership (PPP) and other PFI-type transactions across several sectors, including healthcare (hospitals and primary care facilities), education (schools) and transport (rail and roads).

He is recognised by the Legal 500 Guide as “an unfailing professional who is extremely proactive in identifying ancillary or related issues in transactions”.
