We acted for StoryToys Limited in its integration with the games division of New York company Amplify, and London-based app developer Touch Press.

The new venture also raised $10 million funding.  The lead investors are an investment vehicle backed by Emerson Collective, the philanthropic organisation founded by Laurene Powell Jobs, a businesswoman and widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs, and Chinese venture capital fund PGA Ventures.

This new digital publisher integrates the award-winning portfolios of Amplify Games, StoryToys, and Touch Press apps.  StoryToys products are downloaded in excess of one million times a month and 250,000 people use its content every week.

Barry O’Neill, CEO of StoryToys said: “The integration of the three portfolios creates a truly unique suite of apps from kindergarten through middle-school and beyond."

LK Shields acted previously for StoryToys through a series of investments rounds and also advised on a pre-completion re-organisation of its capital structure.

The transaction was led by Emmet Scully, Partner with assistance from James Byrne.
