The New Protected Disclosures/Whistleblowing Legislation - What Employers Need to Know

Join us for a panel discussion on the key changes that employers should be aware of in relation to the newly enacted Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022, for practical tips on how:
  • employers should best navigate the new legislation, and
  • some insight on the latest technology available to employers to comply with the legislation.
 
The panel of speakers will include:
  • Ciara O'Kennedy, Partner, Employment, Pensions and Employee Benefits Team at LK Shields
  • Dr Lauren Kierans BL, Lecturer in Department of Law & Criminology, Maynooth University and Co-Founder and Director of Education at the European Whistleblowing Initiative (EWI); and
  • Daniel Hager, Director, Whistleblower Software ApS.
 
The panel will be chaired by Aoife Bradley, Head of Employment, Pensions and Employee Benefits at LK Shields.

About the speakers:

Speaker Biography

Ciara O'Kennedy

Ciara advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment issues with significant experience in contentious employment matters and in particular resolving complex and sensitive disputes involving the removal of senior executives and employee shareholders.

Lauren Kierans

Dr Lauren Kierans BL is a Lecturer in Law at Maynooth University since 2020, where she lectures on whistleblowing law at undergraduate level, as well as a Professional Certificate. She was awarded her PhD on the Irish Protected Disclosures Act 2014 in June 2019.  She has published articles and book chapters on protected disclosures and co-authored the Annotated Statute on the Protected Disclosures Act 2014.

Daniel Hager

Director at Whistleblower Software ApS.

Aoife Bradley

Aoife is Head of the Employment and Pensions Team. Aoife’s practice is primarily focused on contentious employment law matters and commercial litigation. Aoife is an experienced practitioner in the area of employment related disputes involving senior executives and pension and employee benefit related disputes.
