Siobhán advises clients on a broad range of employment law issues, both contentious and non-contentious.

Siobhán advises our clients on all issues that arise from the employer-employee relationship, including disciplinary investigations, litigation, the termination of employment contracts, recruitment, redundancies, fixed-term and agency workers legislation, working time legislation, settlement agreements, unfair dismissal/discrimination complaints, equality law, health and safety, corporate immigration and the employment aspects of corporate transactions.

Siobhán has advised sporting bodies and athletes on a variety of issues relating to employment issues, child protection issues, selection disputes and competition law queries.

Siobhán regularly contributes to employment law publications in Ireland and the UK, including Legal Island and the DSBA Parchment.

Experience

  • Preparing and updating employment contracts, policies and procedures, taking into account developments in legislation and best practice.
  • Advising domestic and international clients on restructuring workforces including collective and non-collective redundancy processes.
  • Providing tailored employment law training sessions for clients and contacts.
  • Advising clients on complex disciplinary, grievance, equality and bullying and harassment issues.
  • Representing clients before the Workplace Relations Commission in claims including unfair dismissal, employment status claims and discrimination claims.  
  • Advising in relation to employment issues arising on the acquisition of shares or businesses, to include conducting due diligence and advising on the implications of TUPE.
  • Assisting with negotiations and drafting settlements arising from employee exits.
  • Advising in relation to employment permits for employers and senior employees.
  • Advising sports clubs on disciplinary issues  and grievances raised by club members in accordance with club rules.  
  • Advising sporting bodies in respect of child protection and other matters.
  • Advising a sporting body in respect of legislative requirements relating to hosting sporting events.
