James advises on all aspects of Data Privacy including compliance with Irish and EU data protection and privacy laws, data processing agreements and advising on transparency obligations under the GDPR.

James also advises on all types of commercial contracts including distribution, agency and franchise agreements and website/app terms and conditions and related documents, as well as on e-commerce and consumer law.

James’ IP experience includes advising on IP ownership, registration, protection and enforcement matters, including trade mark registrations, renewals, enforcement and commercialisation. James also regularly carries out due diligence on IP issues arising from M&A and other corporate transactions.

  • Advising on data protection obligations flowing from the asset sale of a large Irish hire purchase and leasing company.
  • Drafting online terms and conditions, terms of sale, privacy notices and general website compliance.
  • Advising on IP issues relating to technology businesses including IP ownership and licensing arrangements and trade mark matters.
  • Drafting and advising on Software as a Service (SaaS) Agreements and other software licenses.
  • Advising on IP ownership and licensing arrangements.
  • Advising on due diligence matters relating to IP in corporate transactions.
  • Advising on copyright law issues in publishing industry including for authors.
  • Advising on filing, renewing and enforcing Irish and European Trade Marks.
