LK Shields acted for the shareholders of Macalla Software Limited a mobile payments technology firm backed by Niall O'Cleirigh, Bryan Maybury, Shackleton Ventures and Intercall Europe BV in connection with the disposal of the company to Roamware Inc. a US company which specialises in mobile roaming technology based in California and India.

Macalla specialises in mobile payments and has won numerous contracts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and includes Vodafone, O2, Bank of Ireland and AIB as its customers.

Macalla will continue to operate out of its Dublin base under the Roamware brand.

The transaction team at LK Shields Solicitors was led by Emmet Scully, Partner in the Business Department, with assistance from Deirdre Kilroy, Partner and Head of Intellectual Property and Technology.
