We acted for Blue Ocean Wireless Limited, a company delivering digital communications capability for the merchant marine sector, in a $7.5 million equity fundraising round from existing shareholders in July 2009 and a further $2.4 million fundraising round from existing shareholders in June 2010.

Blue Ocean, founded in 2007, currently provides GSM mobile phone services to crews on over 400 ocean going vessels via satellite links and previously won a Global Telecom Business Innovation Award for the wireless network infrastructure innovation category.

The team was led by Partner Emmet Scully of the Business Department.
