Blue Ocean Wireless - Equity Fundraising Round

We acted for Blue Ocean Wireless Limited, a company delivering digital communications capability for the merchant marine sector, in its recent $7.5m equity fundraising round from existing shareholders.

The additional equity was provided by Smart Communications Inc, NTT DoCoMo Inc and Altobridge and will be used to roll out Blue Ocean's fleet broadband product.

Blue Ocean, founded in 2007, now has a customer base and order book of over 650 vessels and recently won a Global Telecom Business Innovation Award for the wireless network infrastructure innovation category.

The team was led by Partner Emmet Scully with assistance from Associate Becky Crawley of the Business Department.
