What's it like to work at LK Shields Solicitors?

My name is Amanda Lewis and I have worked as a legal secretary
at LK Shields Solicitors for four years. During this time
I have always felt that my input and views are valued and
indeed expected. Furthermore, any useful suggestions that
I and my fellow secretaries put forward to make things better
within our immediate sphere of influence will be readily taken
on board. This is in no small part due to the culture of the
firm which is open and inclusive. I feel very much part of
a successful team that is really going places.
Working here could never be described as dull. There is no
shortage of work, but equally there is no shortage of camaraderie
and although I work for a busy Litigation Partner he always
has time for a chat and a joke.

I have always found that no matter what your position is in the
firm that our Managing Partner, Hugh
Garvey, will always have time for you. He is very approachable
and listens to everyone’s views and takes them all on board. This
is very important to us all.
On the technology side, since the firm introduced digital dictation
I have found that I can do my work much more efficiently. In addition,
I can see what "jobs" are awaiting my attention and which
of them are urgent. This system also allows other secretaries to
"pitch in" and help me out if I am particularly busy and
vice versa.
The secretaries here support each other and pull together well.
I genuinely believe that we are all striving for excellence and
I am therefore proud to be a part of this firm.
