In recent years the Revenue Commissioners have been particularly active in investigating the tax affairs of Irish residents who may have invested monies in offshore schemes.

We act on behalf of a number of individuals whose tax affairs are being investigated by the Investigation Branch of the Revenue Commissioners. The Investigation Branch investigate taxpayers with significant income and other taxation issues, sometimes with a view to prosecution. Work of this nature requires a close collaboration between the client, the client's accountant and/or tax consultant and, frequently, counsel specialising in tax law.

We have also acted for a number of financial institutions at hearings of the Public Accounts Committee enquiry into Deposit Interest Retention Tax.
